Dr. Rhonda Kindred

Dr. Kindred has served most recently as the Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Director for both the American Indian-Alaskan Native Technical Assistance Network and for Office of Head Start Region IV in Atlanta.  She is recognized for her expert knowledge of American Indian Alaskan Natives populations and tribal HS programs.  She has a deep understanding of the need for cultural sensitivity when working with diverse communities.  In her various roles, she has worked in coordination with local, state, and national organizations to acquire strategic partnerships and infrastructure focusing on services to children and families. 

 As TTA Director for two different regions with OHS, she assisted her teams with offering in-depth, focused, and individualized technical consultation to head start, early head start, and child care partnerships programs.   She gathered and assessed complex information and data used in decision-making, quality assurance, and staff supervision.   Working with her team, she has offered technical assistance, training, and support to programs including early childhood professionals, home visitors and education managers.   She has helped programs to resolve deficiencies and non-compliances related to program design and management, fiscal, governance, systems, educational parent and family engagement, health and nutrition, mental health, and oral health.
Dr. Kindred has worked as Training Specialist Supervisor.  She has taught on both the University and Community College level.  She has worked in the mental health field as both an adult therapist and as a child and adolescent therapist. She worked in crisis case management.  She has contributed insight in improving quality child care through her work with Washington Quality Improvement Rating System.   She has worked with Educare and the Ounce of Prevention Fund.  Dr. Kindred has also served as a Head Start Director.  As the Director, she realigned the organization toward quality improvement through staff reestablishment, program increase, and cost reduction.  She also partnered with the Union to form agreement in coordination with Board of Directors to attain quality improvements.
Dr. Kindred has a Ph.D. from Florida State University in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences; an M.B.A. from Kaplan University; an M.S. in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University; and a B.S. in Psychology from Auburn University
