Qualification:              Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, and at least five (5) years’ experience in a teaching capacity.  Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of early childhood education and development, and the techniques in dealing effectively with economically deprived children and their parents.  Ability to serve as an educational lead for the center, oversee implementation of all aspects of education services and providing teachers with supervision, training, coaching and monitoring.  Must be able to work with staff  to ensure a high performance, child and family-centered environment  which supports  achieving  Head Start  educational  objectives  and family service expectations. Must possess basic knowledge of:  Head Start Performance Standards, State Regulatory Standards, Head Start mandates such as School Readiness Goals and requirements, Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), Healthy & Safety standards, CACFP regulations, Classroom Observation & Monitoring skills, Parent Engagement and Pre – K standards.

Must have thorough knowledge of overall general accounting duties.  Plus have knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.  Must have math and fiscal abilities and comprehension.  Must have proficient working knowledge of computers and computer programs, i.e. QuickBooks non-profits, ADP Payroll processing experience, accounting software, and Windows packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of any and all matters associated with the organization and with any partnerships associated with the organization.  Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, read, analyze, and interpret federal, state and local regulations and/or guidelines. Overall supervision of Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and general accounting functions of the finance department.  This position will provide fiscal management, grants management, and supervision of the agency’s finance department including accounts payable, payroll, budget development, financial reporting, and serving as an integral part of the agency’s leadership team. In addition to managing existing programs, this position will help with the acquisition, implementation and management of developing projects and services.
Our Ideal candidate will be experienced in financial management and accounting in the non-profit sector. The successful applicant should be proficient with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks. It is our hope this individual will have experience with Head Start and Community Block Grants.

Ninth District Opportunity, Inc. Gainesville, Georgia is seeking an Executive Director for a multi-county Community Action Agency in Northeast Georgia.

This position oversees the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the Agency, meeting the changing needs of constituents while complying with federal, local, and state funding requirements. This position recommends policies to the Board of Directors to achieve the Agency’s goals and objectives, implements board policies, develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization and represents the Agency in the community, state, and national arenas.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in the area of finance, planning, organizational development or related field.

 

  • Five or more years of management experience.
