Legal Aid

This component accesses the legal needs of low-income individuals of Clayton County who seeks civil representation with problems or complaints.

The Pro Bono Project Coordinator screens individuals with issues for family law and domestic violence, housing, consumer law, food stamps and Medicaid complaints. Eligibility depends on household income and case type.

The local private attorneys volunteer their time to represent low–income eligible individuals referred by the project.  These individuals would otherwise not have access to the justice system.

The Pro Bono Project is supported by Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc., local volunteer attorneys, and the Clayton County Bar Association.
